Popeyes® South Africa remains closed during Lockdown Level 4

At Popeyes® South Africa our priority is the health and safety of our guests and team members.  As a result of the outbreak of COVID-19, we find ourselves in unprecedented times where business and all sectors of society have been affected in a myriad of ways

The Pronouncement by the President of a gradual lifting of restrictions in a phased approach is welcomed and supported by Popeyes® South Africa.

The scheduled transition to level 4 which began on 1 May 2020 does make provision for QSR businesses to operate on a limited delivery basis only.

Deliveries constitute 20-25% of the Popeyes® South Africa business and we have therefore made the following business decisions based on employee and public safety:

1.

Popeyes® South Africa will not participate and/or operate during level 4

2.

Once clear guidelines for employee and customer safety have been gazetted, an assessment and decision will be made as to the reopening of business operations

3.

We will assess the impact of the lockdown once all restrictions have been lifted and thereafter engage with all stakeholders on the proposed way forward

At this point, the safety of our team members, guests and communities remain our priority.

These are undoubtedly unprecedented times and we are hopeful that this closure is temporary.
